The return of the Professional Barber World Series has been officially announced, under a slightly different name; The Dapper Dan Barber World Series. The competition’s name is not the only change this year, with more things planned than ever before to make this the competition’s biggest year to date.

The illustrious judging panel will once again be headed up by Dapper Dan Director Simon May, joined by Colin Petrie, Mark Maciver, Mike Taylor, Charles Gray and Rhys Whitehouse for perhaps the most stacked panel the competition has ever had. Alongside the fantastic judges panel, Dapper Dan, Matakki Scissors and Nearcut all return as sponsors with the addition of premium barbershop furniture makers REM. Thanks to the competition’s amazing sponsors, the prizes up for grabs are once again certainly worth fighting for, including the Front Cover of Modern Barber, £1500 of Dapper Dan credit, £1200 of Nearcut Credit, a range of scissors, razors and barber accessories, not to mention a special REM Kingsman Barber Chair.

With the immense quality and number of entries in each category last year, all 3 categories (Barber of The Year, International Barber of The Year and Barbershop of The Year) will make a return, with entries to the competition opening up on July 3rd, and closing on September 1st. For the first time, the competition’s judges will not be the only ones with a say in deciding the winners, with this year’s competition supporting a brand new audience vote during the finalist stage to help decide each category’s winner. If you want to have your voice heard and vote for your favourite entry make sure you’re following the Competition's Instagram page @probarber_worldseries to not miss out on any announcements.
